What is Sparkbytes doing with AI?

Our Sparkbytes team has been involved in AI since 2020, working on app prototypes using early neural net models and GPT engines. Our latest venture in AI is our Clone Companion project.

Clone Companion is a place where people can create an avatar that becomes more like them over time through various input sources.

The vision for Clone Companion is to allow users to build an AI representation of themselves that can engage in the digital world as themselves. It's not an AI Assistant, although it would have the capacity to, it's not a chatbot, although such is also possible. It's not just a social media or networking place, although it will have that capability. It is a place where all of those features can come together, and where users can also add new AI tools to their AI page that help them navigate through life, connect with others, create art, and stay organized.

Clone Companion will have a wide amount of sensitive data at its disposal. How we manage that is imperative to security and user trust. Who can access that data and ask certain questions about another user? What is public vs. private knowledge? Are there different tiers of private knowledge? What about moving beyond user replication, and embarking on replicating one's social circle and network? Who gets to know what information about their friends and colleagues?

Clone Companion will have to represent and quantify every data point, and allow users to grant levels of permission to access each of their data points. These data points could vary from complex opinions, to facts, health information, preferences, politics, and other points of information.

Ethical Considerations & Technical Challenges

There are two main challenges and areas we look forward to exploring. AI representation of the complexity of the human personhood, and user data security. Both realms are key interests of the Sparkbytes team and we are excited to move the needle forward and contribute to new discoveries in pioneering of this new generation of Artificial Intelligence.
